Keeping Secrets from Family

It is always a debate whether you should or shouldn't let your family see the skeletons in your closets. Is it right to keep secrets from your mom? What about your spouse?

I am not going to discuss whether its right or wrong because its futile. There are situations where the truth does not need to be announce at the top of the world, there are also times when keeping certain information can cause catastrophic consequences. I'm sure all of us have the ability to decide when to tell certain info.  

For me, I've decided to keep secrets from my family. The deciding factor is the fact that my parents are not interested to know. Its very stressful for me to explain things to those who have already closed their ear's and hearts. I do not see a point trying to talk to people who believe that I should be a certain 

I'm an adult and I don't see a reason to befriend people who are neither helpful nor caring in my life. I'm not saying that I wont help or take care of them. I've just decided not to update them on my personal life and happenings.

End of the day, there is more peace in my life. No more arguments and lectures. Rather than struggling to make everyone happy, keeping my personal life personal from my family makes life better for me.
